Hello everyone did you all know that roush performance has a new turbo kit for the focus. 99-03 with the 2.0 z-tech engine. Boost horsepower by 95%. kit includes intake manifold, cold air induction and all necessary hardware for complete install. wonder if that will go on our cars as well? if they are the same.

i have seen that kit beeing talked about on FJ many times. For the price you might as well build your own since you don't even know if its gonna fit 100%. I know I'm not about to test fit a $4K kit.

The problem with buying a Focus kit is that none of the intercooler piping or tuning will work. Possibly not even the intercooler.

I don't know about you, buy I REALLY don't want a 1500 degree turbo 1/2" from my hood.

If you could get it without the piping, chip, and intercooler, it might be worth it. That would make it reasonable at $2k.

What kinda numbers are the FJ people getting with this kit?

Also yeah I think for 4k I would rather make my own custom kit, but hey if it works hmm..

IMO the entire layout of that turbo isn't setup for optimal performance. For example the intake piping that first runs beside the exhaust pipe to the intercooler, then from the intercooler to the throttle body over the valve cover, then the intake filter placed inside the hot engine bay. That all adds up to even hotter intake air, which could have been reduced a lot running a different piping layout.

It is a optimal layout if you want to keep your battery under the hood.

It keeps stock battery placement, rougly stock MAF placement and more importantly, stock CAT placement. It won't work for our cars, cause our CATs are different. The Focus has a 3 bolt flange that looks kind of like a standard header flange. Our flange is a big squaure 4 bolt thing.

Not worth it, IMHO.

The only kit I would consider dropping $4k on is the Demon Dynamics kit.
Otherwise spend less than $2k and build a custom kit and spend another $500 on a custom tune.
