Well my gf read the thread and she thinks your acting like a girl haha.
All guys have made this mistake at some point, But if you're 7 years older than a college kid, and you're just figuring out this [censored] now ... buddy, you will be, really, really depressed.
The hug didn't mean squat. Most likely it was a 'friends' hug. You're in the friends bin, or the friends ladder, whatever. You aren't jumping to the 'i'm gonna [censored] him' bin / ladder period. Especially acting pussywhipped and giving her your phone/email.
In the future, if you like somebody, be a straight shooter and ask them out, tell them you wanna [censored] straight and quick. If you like (and by like, I mean [censored]) a chick, do not ever, ever do anything that will make you 'friends'. If she declines, or whatever your advances, just stop talking to her, or ignore her, or whatever and you may have a shot if she's an attention whore, otherwise -- move on.
