haha, that made me picture a contour with a looooong nose and the blower sticking out of the hood. it would be completely retarded but funny as hell.

Have at it.
Please post pics when you are done with the RWD V8 conversion. It should be stellar in a straight line.

Anything is possible with enough money and skill. This would require tons of research though. With out doing any research my self, I would think going with the V8 SHO platform may work. It would still be FWD and I'm sure there is a lot of modifications to do, but hey, I used to stuff 350 small blocks & 3800 SC V6's in the back of Pontiac Fiero's and still have a nice drivable (for a Fiero) car. All while looking like a factory install! Again, with the right research, money and knowledge anything is possible. I would suggest getting a plain jane Contour to do it on and upgrade the chassis and bodywork to suite. The only SVT parts you'll likly be keeping is the body work and interior so why waste a good one.

THAT, SHO V8, won't fit it's too long (unless you don't need fenders or a unibody up front ), and good luck trying to find a MTX to bolt up to it and then the headaches with driveshaft etc.

Making it FWD would be pointless I think. It has been shown that we can make the horsepower in these cars, but what we can't do is get it to the ground. If someone figured out how to make these things RWD, then it may be worth the effort to some people

that's what i was thinking...you can build a nice 3l turbo and make some serious hp and tq....but if you built a fwd v8 tour you still wouldn't be able to get the power to the ground,so what's the point...
now if your doing a rwd conversion why not just do that and use a 3l turbo combo to save the effort of converting to rwd and v8....but as has been said good luck with either your gonna need it...
