Jason, I know there's lots of discussion here regarding this but my feeling is that this hasn't been proven for street use and for track work using the 1/2 litre additional oil seems to work fine.

My SVT did at least 1,800 laps of a very demanding road course on race tires with over 100,000 miles on the motor and it's still running very strong. The course has a flat 3rd gear 180 degree right-hand turn, right after a very highspeed 4th gear right/left combo off the back straight.

Everyone has a different opinion but my personal experience has been good and I've seen new Explorers with 3!!! spun bearings which definitely weren't from hard right hand turns.

Fill your oil to 1/2 L over spec., and you'll likely be fine from an oil starvation point of view. Everything else is open to the engine gods.

Regards, Alan
