Hey guys, its me with another problem. Actually not my problem, my girlfriends.

For about the past 4 months she has been having problems with using the bathroom. She has what feels like severe constapation (sp?) and can go about 6 days without using the bathroom before she has to go to the emergency room or take a laxative. Well, we went to the doctor again today and they ran several tests including IBS. All were good. She is perfectly healthy, she is not anerexic (sp?), but slightly underweight by a couple of pounds. She eats a normal diet as much as she can til it hurts too much to eat anymore. The thing is it looks like she hardly eats a thing, like half a piece of chicken. She also is very bloated but the CAT scans and the X-rays they ran on her show that there is no air there, or stool samples at all in her intestines.

She has seen too many doctors and she is too young to have these kinds of problems. Not one dam doctor can find a freakin problem. Its like she eats very small meals a few times a day and eventually she said it feels like it packs up on her and then she can't eat hardly anyhting else. Yet the doctor's X-rays show no stool!!! But shes bloated and her stomach kills her. Sometimes we have to take her to the emergency room if it gets too bad. To keep it from going bad she has to pretty much rely on laxatives, which is not normal to "rely" on them. It is really frustrating to be going through this. Maybe you guys know anything about this? Know anyone that had something like this? I'm just praying to god for a miracle.

That's awful , sorry to hear she is going though this. my mother has been a nurse since 1979 and maybe she knows about this , I will call her tonight and she what she says .

Firstly, these things should be consulted with a Doctor. It's impossible for anyone on here to make any diagnosis

I'll give you some ideas/opinions:

MOST IMPORTANTLY, I didn't notice a DRE-Digital rectal exam scan. This should be done. The doctor will examine the abdomen for hardening mass in this exam. Or perhaps a sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy. However, you noted that there was no stool in the colon w/the X-ray, so the colonoscopy may not be effective.

If she does take the laxative, she can excrete; have the doctors tested her stool?

What is her diet and I mean on the dime? Make sure you start making a list of what she is eating daily to the dime. --If her diet lacks fiber, this could be a viable option/also dehydration can aid in this as well. She needs to be drinking A LOT of liquids, especially since she isn't abled to eat much.

Again, consult her doctor and do some research, man. Webmd is an awesome source of information. The best thing for a patient is to arm themselves with knowledge.
