Not really sure but most FWD ATX's are weaker than their MTX counterparts on the same type of car.

If you want a beefy ATX, get one from http://www.lentechautomatics.com/

There's a Focus pushing 500+ whp on one of those.

The main problem of putting the Vortech SC on a Contour is the passenger side motor mount. We have a big-ass cast iron bracket that goes around the side/front/back of the engine. The Foci use a small bracket that come out the middle of the timing belt cover. If you could somehow get the Focus motor mount into a Contour, then I'm sure you could use any of the Focus kits.

96mercury is working on one and I am working on another. 96mercury will probably have his done months before mine. I am currently out of cash.

The reason I couldn't use the Vortec is because I have an ATX. The Vortec was fabricated for the MTX.

Hector so the vortech was made for a mtx why does that matter? Besides transmission longevity I don't understand that there would be a mounting issue. What specifically would prevent it from being used? Details? Thanks

The Vortech mounted specifically to the MTX.....I have an ATX. Totally different. The Vortech may fit the MTX Contour.....don't know for sure. If I had a MTX I would rather go with turbo anyway.

OK mounted specifically for the MTX, but the ATX and MTX motors are identical. Of course an ATX is totally different but you also have a contour and the supercharger was made for a focus which is also totally different. There must be a more detailed reason why. I am not doubting you but the reasoning so far is vauge. What would the fitment issues have been?

The engine is the same yes. The trans no. The Vortec bolts up to the TRANS.

So what do you think is better for the Zetec-ATX, Turbo or SC?
