Well, tranny is out. Clutch looks like its burned to a crispy critter. Ash all over too. Not entirely sure how that happened. Gonna be fun putting back together. This is why I'm glad I sold it to my roommate before he let his gf drive it around everywhere. Worked perfectly before she got to it.

No. Undo the "tri" bracket fot the steering under the dash on the floor. 1 bolt and it slides off. Pull out the rubber dust shield so it doesn't get hung up when the rack & pinion sides down with the subframe.

Also don't forget to unplug the VSS. Hard to see.

i undid the pinch bolt where the steering rack meets the steering column.

just to let you know it is easy to get it out but putting it back in is a pain when you have to connect it to the torque converter in the bell housing i just put an engine in a probe so have fun.

The MTX is fairly heavy to reinstall alone. Life wih the legs/ Bet the ATX is terrible to maneuver around.
