Not too much different than something Weid Al might do, but done with a big Christian twist. To each their own I suppose.
I thought it was cool too. When I first saw it (not on CEG, but a while back) I was very tempted to show my own youth leader from high school. It's definitely very youth-groupish, rather brought back memories for me
I don't think they were serious (or overzealous Christian idiots) in the song - I consider it a simple parody.

Why do these over-zealous idiots feel they have to try make Chriistianity look "hip n happening" by doing gay sh!t like that? It's not cool at all....infact it's pathetic!
How dare you talk crap about a christian brother just because he chooses to express his faith more flamboyantly than you do. At least he looks like he has fun celebrating his faith instead of sitting in a church every week looking and sounding like he's mourning it, which is what most of you religious tight-as$es do.
You're a bad christian. You're going to hell.

Woh woh buddy.......everyone just settle down a bit...
The video, I mean it was really corney and kinda stupid but I found nothing sacreligious or anything. Its just people benig dumb and having fun with it. People need to be a little less sensitive on both ends.....I'm a very strong believing catholic and I was not offended the slightest...

That's the vibe I got from it also. It seems to be a light-hearted parody, and not much more than that. It certainly doesn't embarrass me, though I probably wouldn't have spend too much time on something like that.

Regardless of whether the video was a joke or not, I think that alot of christians try to blend christianity with all kinds of stuff just to get people interested, which I don't think is the greatest idea.
Flexibility is great, but if you're trying to get people to believe in jesus, then you should get them interested in jesus.
I think most of us could be more open minded, but I also think there is a point where you do have to draw the line, and I think that the video, whether made with good intentions or not sorta makes light of serious things.

I agree. Rap music definitely shouldn't be mixed with religion. It's like using religion to advertise guns or alcohol. I don't like rap music but the valley girl sounded OK. She is the best sounding rapper ever.

I think one of the biggest things that drives people away from Christianity are many of the folks who call themselves Christians.
Jesus, from what I can read in scripture, wasn't a dour wall flower. He went to parties, hung with the "wrong" crowd.
His first miracle was at the wedding in Cana where he turned water into wine.
Jesus loved people, didn't choose to sin and didn't care for sin. But I said he loved people first, and since he came to ultimately forgive those who accepted him, that is who he is, one who loves others and commands us to love one another.
I don't think this video hurts Christ one bit. It may ruffle the feathers of some Christians, but I don't see it as an affront to God.
