No, the teacher was the one being disrespectful. The teacher needs to get his head out of his ass and let the student be excused for a few minutes so he can properly end the call...WITH HIS MOM IN IRAQ!!

The bigger problem is the principal(s) and the punishment backing the teacher.

Still doesn't change the fact that HE needs to be respectful to his teachers and principal...

And where in the world did you see me take any blame away from either of the parties involved? Eh?

I didn't.

Let's look at this in a different way...

If you are a teacher, you walk up, and you ask a student using a cell phone to put the phone down...He looks at you very defiantly and says "It's my mother in Iraq!!" How the crap is the teacher supposed to know the difference between a mother in Iraq and a drug deal? Eh? Exactly...

The rule is no cellphone use during the school day...All the teacher knows is that the student is using a cell phone, therefore completely within her rights to stop the call...

I'm not taking any responsibility for this away from the teacher, but don't take it away from the student either...

He could have made a better decision and contacted a teacher immediately about the phone call, and things may have gone a little differently...
