Hi, I have a 98 CSVT and am wondering...how much power/speed can i give it? I am in college right now...but i would like to keep the car aftewards and invest into making it "perfect." What upgrades considering the Car is stock except for a Piggy Back Chip and Borla cat back Exhaust? However, lets go off a stock CSVT what would be needed to be done to make this stock CSVT into a car that will run low 12's in the 1/4 mile?
Thanks,
Can't wait to hear your guys sugestions Also lets keep Nitrus or NOS Nitro out of the line up for add ons.

12's haven't been hit yet, even with THOUSANDS of dollar's into them, but the biggest hp booster is the turbo kit from ADC, www.arizonadynochip.com, besides that you can jsut do simple bolt-ons such as intake high flow y-pipe, and headers for a few, jsut read around and you'll get it.

nope, not gonna happen
just take the body and stick it on a funny car chasis, power it by a rolls-royce jet engine
EDIT
stickers! many many stickers! i've heard they help

turbo 3 liter swap, headers, anything hi flow on the exhaust system..excellent driving skills, gut the entire car to reduce weight.. I mean.. the works. Some of the best SVT's run lowest times of 13.x .. I'm certain 12's are almost out of the question for most owners. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though..

figure out how to get that power to the ground so that you don't spin your tires down the track and/or snap your axles. building the engine is the easy part.

Traction is a huge issue, too. I've been informed that the_spy_guy ran 14.(5)? at the track with his 3l SVT, with no traction and bad conditions. I wonder how he's gonna run when conditions are perfect.. but you get the idea.

I'm pretty sure Demon's SVT runs 13.xx in the quarter mile. If you go to his website, you can see ALL the things he did to it, and that's quite a bit!
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

If we could get a REALLY good driver behind the wheel of one of those Turbo cars I think we would see 12's out of a few of the cars here. It might help if they didn't blow up... I do think that there are a few cars that are capable of 12's with a little more work. But, traction is the biggest issue here... As Bill (pre98) said, The_Spy_Guy ran a 14.5 with REALLY bad traction issues. Keep in mind, he was running street tires. I think they're Bridgestone Potenzas but im not sure. His car should be capable of a low 14, maybe more but thats probably about it.

The turbo cars definately have the horsepower of a 12 second car. Its just getting them to hook up. Depends on how you want to run it too. The 1/4 isn't everything. I'd much rather have a car that will destroy anything it meets on the interstate than at the track.
