I can move the stick sideway (left and right) like in neutral. So, after I shifted to 1st gear, the stick stay in center. I slowly release the clutch with a bit of more gas, the car move forward.

Before I take to a transmission shop, I like to educated myself first. Please explain and tell me what is wrong? Can it be a simple fix?

Thanks in advance for any response.

Sounds like a broken / disconnected cable. As you sit in the car with the window open and move the shifter left to right do you hear anything going on under the hood like you usually would?

Assuming that you don't (or are not sure) from the step above you need a person to do this for you and look under the hood at the top of the shift tower and confirm that there is no movement, also check for disconnected ends of the cable. If there is no cable movement and it is connected to the transmission either is is disconnected in the center console of the cable is broken.

Good luck!
