Reading stuff like this make me ever more thankful that McRee Ford in Dickinson, TX is our dealer. We had the wiring harness on our '93 Escort wagon done some years ago, not a warranty issue, and not cheap, and we got a free loaner car for the time of repairs not because we bought that car from them but because we bought a car from them, the Contour. They have since gotten more strict on that loaner the car, you have to have bought the car going into service from them to get a loaner. No problem there as they are our Ford dealer, just minutes from our house, free loaner cars, and a great service dept.
They were also very helpful with a water leak in the interior on the passenger side floor in our '02 Tuarus wagon. We were just past the bumper-to-bumper and I had the info about the TSB concerning that problem, brought that to them, and they repaired it with the Warranty Assistance Program. It cost us $50 for what our service writer told us would have been more than $800.
