yes, they can refuse to repair the harness...the age of your car is all they need......as i've said before i took my car to two separate dealers at 89k and 96k miles...i was told both times that the cracked wiring underhood was not covered, although i knew it was...a few months ago my car was towed to a engine shop and then an electrical shop which determined that my harness was the cause of the problems...when i talked to ford in dearborn they basically said that it wasn't covered because i was now over 100k miles...when told that i had tried to get it repaired twice before and was refused their only suggestion was to go back to one of the dealers and see if they would agree to fix it or pay part of the repairs (fat chance of that happening)...a 'note' was supposed to be sent from dearborn to the local service manager alerting him of my issues but when i called a couple days or more in a row, they had no such notice from headquarters and i was stuck with the bill...

ford doesn't care about its customers, and especially these old ass dying contours...
