If you have a babied "hanger queen" then by all means never tow with it. You might hurt it's feelings, or your own.  I've towed with mine since new with no problems.  If you have no help to offer why not stfu and quit posting on how you cant carry a bottled water and a t-shirt in YOUR precious baby? If you want to know what a Contour can tow I'd suggest you look around the Mondeo Enthusiast's Group. In Europe most people don't have pickups, and not as many have SUVs. They do most of their towing with saloons (sedans) and estates (wagons) like the Ford Mondeos and Vauxhaul Vectras. As for the wiring I would just take out the tail lights and splice into those wires. My car does have what appears to be a tow connector in the trunk on the driver's side under the carpet, but I might be wrong.

This is for a four wire harness.
<New Harness>++++++++++++<car wiring>
White---------------------chassis ground.
Brown/tail/brakelight-----orange wire.
Yellow/left turn----------Blue with white stripe drivers side.
Green/Right turn----------Blue with black stripe passenger side.

You can also tap into the main line in the middle. see my added notes, that way your wire does not have to be soo long. First take off the black plastic trunk gard in the trunk, unrap the black tape. Find the correct wires and wire away. Originally posted by jthursby:
