In fairness, they should have given you a free rental car as soon as they realized they blew the diagnosis. And they shouldn't charge you for anything but the parts and labor that really fixed the problem.
perhaps that new work order idea will work. As far as a rental car my car is not under a warranty or anything w/ Ford, nor did I buy it there. I just needed A ford dealership to work on it b/c I couldnt fix it myself. So that being said I didnt think they were obligated to give me a free rental. Maybe if I argue that point they will deduct some $ from the bill.
