Ok here is what you do... Turn the key to the on postion but not to crank it.. if the theft light does not flash you do not have a problem with PATS.. if the theft light does flash with the key in the on postion there is a Theft issue.
Now if it is not a theft issue and I do not think it is you are probably looking at an ignition switch. The parts number is SW 5213 and list for $133.42 at your local Ford dealer
