PnPheads is pleased to offer another service that may be less expensive for people wishing to get their heads ported. Effective today if you are able to have access to a machine shop and they can perform the valve work and you can send us the bare heads we will port them, for $695 + shipping and offer a turnaround time of 10 days. The process for the machine shop will differ depending on what heads your using, here is what you need to get a quote from a machine shop:
Before shipping to PnPHeads
For 2.5L/3L Split port heads:
ร?ยท Disassemble valves/springs
ร?ยท Remove seats designed for 32mm valves and replace with seats designed for 35mm valves on the intakes
ร?ยท Remove seats designed for 26mm valves and replace with seats designed for 30mm valves on the exhaust
ร?ยท Clean and paint (optional)
ร?ยท Lightly plane head surface if needed - no more then .003รขโ?ฌย!
For 3L Oval Port heads:
ร?ยท Disassemble valves/springs
ร?ยท Weld the center injector position shut completely
ร?ยท Plane the intake surface to make sure welds are smooth with top
ร?ยท Clean and paint (optional)
ร?ยท Lightly plane head surface if needed - no more then .003รขโ?ฌย!
After this step ship to PnPheads for port work.
Once you get them back the machine shop will have to follow these procedures for ANY head:
ร?ยท Assemble valves and springs (if 2.5L heads you will need to supply larger 3L valves)
ร?ยท Check for any sealing issues
ร?ยท Flow bench (optional)
