the event was over at 4... plenty of time to spend with the mum after. but yeah, it was a good time. i guess someone's vette hit a pole before i got there . that and derek dropped his times by like 9 seconds from his first to fourth run. the announcer was pretty comical also: "carbon fiber hood... red calipers... red seats... nice car." and for derek after his first run that wasnt too fast: "ummm, i can tell by the sound of that one that it's got a little more potential."

i dunno about others, but the whole family gets together on these types of holidays, so it's a tough sell. that and everyone got together at 1:30.

anywho... it looks like you guys had some fun!

Nup, didn't break anything, and I came with 0.5sec (i ran a 44.005s) of Barge (he ran a 43.5xx) which I was happy with seeing as he has 300hp, AWD and was sporting the super sticky Falken Azenis tires. I had the Prxoes 4's on which aren't exactly the choice Auto-X tire, but nonetheless I did good considering my group (TSM) consisted about 10 modified WRX's, a modified Mustang GT, 2 modded 350Z's, and a modified EVO VII .

I delighted the crowd and the announcer with a smokey peel out on my second run

Tweecerpotamus!!!!

Movie of me trying to put the 280hp to the ground.

5/30/05 the weekend after SZ.
This Auto-X course is one of the best around ANYWHERE a VERY long course with 3rd gear zones and usually runs over a minute - a long run for an Auto-X course.

I registerred already.

Go to: http://www.detroit-scca.org

Click on the link on the header name "Solo" then "Events" then Memorial Day At the Palace.

Then you can online register following the www.myautoevents.com link. Saves you $10 in the process.

I swear that you will NOT regret entering and running your car - it's simply awesome, fun and cool. And if your a tight-wad or a scaredy cat you can come watch for FREE (yes FREE for all you tight fisted poofs)

So come on, all you posers that have modded you cars - let you if you can actually drive! This separates the big-talkers from the real car-guys.

I'm gonna try and source some decent tires for this event to put the Bargeru in it's place - BEHIND ME!

Pics need much more zoom. Can't believe your car still has some body roll for being stiff as hell.

That's the heavy motor. Look at the Bargeru that bastard has some mondo nose dive going on. I'm thinking about upgrading my front springs to stiffer ones.

Whoever comes to watch - I will guarantee will say "Sh!t I should've entered that looks like a lot of fun". C'mon I promise you - you will be hooked!

CEG represent - don't be scared unless you're modded tocrap like me and Biggers you'll probably be in STS (or G-stock for the bone stock guys) - a very competetive yet easier class. No WRX's or rockets like that.
