He was only seventeen and he was desperate and needed money to pay back the rest of his family and friends that he had borrowed money from. Getting your legal paper isn't the easiest and quickest things to do. He was too deep in the hole and didn't have the luxury of time to do everything legally. And he is currently in the process of getting his work visa and residency. However I do agree that the problem begins in the countries that the illegals come from. Their governments are not being self sufficient enough to want to keep their own people from wanting to leave and come to the US.
