Nope, more like between $14 and $17 BILLION dollars annually, the second largest source of foreign income for Mexico after oil.

We need to come down on this HARD. Right now the government is basically saying "well it is illegal to come here but we won't really do anything if you do."

Yes, many industries rely heavily on the use of illegal immigrants, and eliminating would drive costs up. Heaven forbid some people get off their asses and do lawn care or some farm work.

We need to reduce the supply AND demand.

do you have a source to cite for that? because i find it a little hard to believe. at best it could only be a guesstimate but that seems overly inflated, probably to to support a particular stance.

This one puts the number at $7 billion

This puts the number at $23 billion for all of Latin America (Mexico at $9 Billion)

Either way you look at it, it's a huge chunk of change.

Ok, then let's talk about the Japanese economy. I'm not going to take sides on this one, but Japan's economy is not as great as you might be lead to believe. By 2025, more than 27% of its population will be over 65. Yes, the GNP is second highest to the USA, but that doesn't mean they are much better off.

only your second link, which does not seem like a credible source, breaks it down between illegal and legal immigrants. it says illegal immigrants are a approximately 1/3 of the source of outflowing funds. i didnt know wire transfers had little check boxes for "illegal" and "legal" for the benefit of statistics. the other link discusses those practicing this activity as coming from all over south and central america. i have met plenty of Filipinos and Africans who do this as well.

i think an even bigger issue is our american corporations sending jobs(money) out of the country, regardless of our economy.

Theres an article somewhere that states how much Mexicans take back to thier country and thats whats always the issue, no one in goverment ever states how much money they save because they don't file taxes so the goverment gets all that money to keep.

If you were on that side of the border, would you do whats best for you and your family?

Yes as a matter of fact they are sending millions if not billions when you take them all into account. If I get raped for 35-40% of my earnings why shouldn't they.

The FACT is it cracks me up when people say that we have to help another country with their employment problems when we have employment problems of our own. Maybe we should let every single person who wants to come over and work at a sub minimum wage so that the people in this country can get screwed. Then we can deal with all the LEGAL people in this country who are losing jobs to people that are willing to work for less.

Since when did the US become the worlds savior? Espescially when it comes to the liberals who want us to support every damn country out there. Let them get there own s**t together.

Have you thought about that?
