Hi all, I had my B&M Trans cooler hooked up for a few days now but i think i need to redo my hose routing.
Currently i tried keeping my original trans return line intact by putting a fitting on it and running a hose from my cooler to there. ( Radiator return to cooler/ cooler to return line ).
But.. because of the lack of space it seems the hose running from cooler to trans return is kinking alittle.
So, my question = If i tap into the transmission return line what would be better? Tapping into the rubber part of the line (with a fitting if it can be done), or tapping into the metal part of the line?

I was able to come off the aftermarket routing along the bundle of cooler hoses coming to the passenger side, then creat a loop out to a point below the engine pulley, back to the termination point by the radiator. Every thing layed in nicely (albeit pretty tight at the radiator connection points) but to assure that it stayed in place I wire tied off the frame to batten down the hose. Nevermind - All taken care of.
I just tapped into the metal return line. So much for keeping the stock line intact!

Sorry about that, son called from an accident and I had to dash. Everything is fine..whew!. This AM is my first time back on the site. You know I fought and worked several configurations just to save those stock lines. The truth is that was my nerves because there is no way that cooler is ever going to come off, and if it goes bad or gets damaged, I will replace with the same. So really there is no need to not cut into the metal lines and streamline the whole install.

No Prob! I am glad to here you son is ok .
I came to the conclusion that i felt the same way as you. I was under the car and started thinking " I am not going to take this off once i install it ". So i just tapped in the metal line, much cleaner looking install also

I cut into the rubber lines and used fittings....been like that for over 2 years.
