Great selection, ultra light and thin, & not over priced.

Frankly, I think you'd look more like a poser with nomex driving shoes accompanying shorts and a T-shirt.
I don't want to spend over $100 on nomex shoes when I don't need them, and then go out in my family sedan and slide around knocking down cones. That's got "poser" written all over it.

Same thing as weighlifter/body building shoes. They are very thin and super light, almost nothing to them, but extremely suportive. You can find them in low to mid to high top too. Some actually go up to almost mid shin but I doubt you would need that high.

A good pair of broken in shoes does it for me, flexable. I have a 2-3 year old pair of shoes from wal-mart I use everyday they are so comfortable, cuz they are broken in. I have a pair of Nikes sittin here I hardly wear that are a year old, sometimes its hard for me to get used to a pair of shoes. Now if I were start to wear my Nikes more often I'd definatly use the wal-mart ones (can't remember the brand name they use I think its Rugged Outback) for driving shoes. I also have a old pair of Nikes that are good for driving, I use those for yard work and washing my car though.

So you might look into that angle.

I wear Vans. They have a good flat sole on them, and have pretty decent pedal feel and grip. For street shoes, the soles aren't too thick on them either which helps pedal feel. They have fairly square-edged soles too, which work well for heel-and-toe downshifts. I haven't tried purpose-built driving shoes, but these work well as daily-driver shoes, as well as for the occasional track day. Plus, they can be had for ~40% off when the next season's styles come out! Marty
