I won't be going back to Barber Ford for service on any of my cars..Went there on March 28 in the Contour with the check engine light on..Spoke to Mike, one of the service writers...Now this car is a 1998 with only 54k miles on it..My brother bought it new at Barber Ford..Mike said one of the three catalytic convertors was bad and that it was out of warranty and would cost around 500.00..I told him no thanks and would have it fix somewhere else.. Was charged 106.00 and check engine light was still on..Picked up the car the next day and started calling muffler shops around town..A familiar answer came from most muffler shops..."dealer only item." Since I knew where Barber stood on this issue, I called Vista Ford in Oxnard..Spoke to service writer Steve..Long story short, just got the car back today ..Vista Ford covered it with no charge...........They put in brand new convertors..I did speak to Barber Ford on March 29th and told them the car was only twelve days out of warranty, but they couldn't help me...so Goodbye Barber Ford..Hello Vista Ford....
