Ditto!
Yep...
How dificult is it to take the old gear out and replace it? I figure I'll just say [censored] it to my warranty ($50.00 deductable) and just buy one of these gizmos and have a MUCH better fix! Thanks alot for making this happen, I hope it all comes out great and my sunroof will work again.
Ok ok already! It looks like this will happen. In about two months I should be running the gear off my machine. Durability was the final issue that was keeping me from completing this project. I have solved that problem by making the gear with the injection machine using glass filled delrin. I am sure an indepenent mind on this board knows something about injection molding and can verify that this material will hold up for a very long time.
Since I back up everything that I make for a lifetime, I really don't want parts breaking later down the road. Not even in 20 years.
It's great that these can fit so many different cars. This will help with volume.
I will keep everyone up to date like I said so here is the first update:
The gear I was getting has stripped out! That was fast. I have another on the way already. If that one doesn't make it I will go back to the list and look at #3. This sounds like a real problem.
