for some reason it wont let me post this in troubleshooting...sorry. I have been extremely busy with a new job for the last few months and my car has sat for about two months without being started...i know i know im retarded. Anyway, i went to start it today, theengine turned over a couple times but didnt catch. tried again and this time it didnt turn over i jsut got a "fluttering" noise and vibration, the lights (ck engine, battery,etc.) were all flashing on and off. Im getting power the lights radio etc work...is it the starter? Thanks in advance.

Yikes sounds like the alternator... Mine has gone two times now. It really is very creepy, a bunch of crazy stuff happens. Try jumping the car so you can get it to somewhere to test the alternator. Just my thoughts

Sounds more like a weak battery, esp. after sitting for a few months. Try to charge it, then maybe test the charging system.

A bad starter makes a screeching noise, the same noise that it will make if you try to start the car when its allready running.

My starter is well on it's way then! Damn... Mine does that but only occasionally... Seems to happen more when it's cold. I think it might be the solenoid (sp)
