Eh, I missed the self-protection part. The only self-defence I eve think about is in my home, and I have a very reliable gun for that: My 870 Express Turkey model. Short barrel, and loaded with 1 5/8 oz of Heavi-Shot in 3" shells. Turkeys at 50 yards? No problem. Scumbag at 10 yards? Big [censored]' hole in the chest. Pistols are just fun and hunting weapons for me.
