Well without the state aid what would my mother do? The private insurance companies will not cover my mother. She has been to every company and they all say the same thing, they will cover anything that she has not had a problem with. She has had a chronic headache problem since age 12, had ulcers, has Crohn's now and essentially they will only cover her limbs. The problems is no one but the state will help people like my mother. It does not create a class either, or at least not one that people cannot get out of fairly easily. Instead of me having to work to pay my mother's enormous medical bills I am getting an education and getting out of this so-called class. The people who abuse the system do indeed create a class of welfare citizens but, if they are able bodied are simply being lazy and like I said, they are abusing the system. You say it does not work so get rid of it, I say it does not work so fix it. My mother is dependent on the system because of her illness not because of the system itself. It is true she has to fight for the aid but it is there, privately none exists and never will because insuring people like my mother does not make money.
