That's just cause everyone in the Central Valley are high. I can not believe Fresno and Stockton are on that list. Both of those cities have serious drug and crime issues and employment issues.

After re-reading the article I'm calling BS on the list. The rankings are based off Anti-depressant drug sales. Many of the "happy" places have high illegal drug use (i.e., Fresno, Stockton, and El Paso, etc...). Many of these "happy" places also have a larger portion of uninsured, under insured, and illegal alien populations. Like those persons are gonna go ask for Prozac.

Not to mention the male 'machismo' factor in places like the south and Alaska is higher than it is in more Urban areas like Los Angeles and New York City
