Another issue I am having is that sometimes my Contour shifts hard, mainly when I am accelerating slowly and let off the gas right before the shift it kinda clunks. Not all the time, just once in awhile. I am used to rear wheel drive cars and when that starts happening its usually a tranny mount. Could that be the case here, or is this a sign of tranny failure to come? Thanks 1997 Contour GL V6

microtonal CEG\'er M Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 98	I test drove a 97 Contour with the V6 this last week end and it did what you describe. I would be driving and then let off the gas to cruise for a second or 2 as I approached a car then the tranny shifted hard and made the clunk sound when I pressed the gas pedal. If I drove normally, it seemed fine until I let off the gas and press the gas pedal again while in motion. Car had 117K miles on it. Engine was strong though. 98 Contour GL/03 ZX3 Focus/05 ZX3 SES Focus
