Here are some pics of my work in progress. Right now, were pretty deep in bodywork, but since I havent shared in a while, there are also some that arent dealing with bodywork. Angelfire sucks, so please just copy and paste these links into your browser.

These first 2 shots are of my modded IMRC cover. Based on the advice of other CEGers, I painted it a darker red with some metalflake. The picture doesnt do it justice though. I dremeled out an oval section, and added some gunmetal grey grille material, along with the SE emblem from the trunk. I used polished stainless bolts and washers to put it back on.

The next few show the billet aluminum battery hold-down that I milled myself. You can also see the red Ford emblem I modded on the fuse box. The third pic shows the billet oil dipstick handle I made. Its polished aluminum with two o-rings.

The next 2 show the work Ive been doing to the front and rear bumper covers. Using a flexible filler designed for urethane bumpers/fiberglass I shaved the large horizontal lines and also the license plate holes. A custom front plate mount is in the works.

The next set of pics show my new flip-flop trunk. I based my brackets on Matts (Speed Demons) design. However, mine are custom machined from solid blocks of aluminum and are much more durable and precise. All I need now are some stronger struts to support the weight of my spoiler. Thanks again, Matt.

This one shows it open, and the one following it shows it locked in place.

My new billet mirror.

Heres a test fit for the hood pin studs. I dont wanna drill holes in the hood until the fenders are nailed down tight.

Let me know what you think.

BigC - long time no see pal. Like your mods. The Amar's mesh idea looks just great!!! Now, IMHO just a coupla things:

1. Don't really dig the SE assymetrical placement.
2. U should powdercoat the dipstick handle red.
3. The same goes about the battery hold.
4. The bumper covers and the trunk mods look very promising. Please post the completion pictures!

Overall great job man!

Every time that I use the image thing it just comes up with that stupid "image hosted by angelfire" picture. I SPECIFICALLY SAID to copy and paste BECAUSE ANGELFIRE DOESN'T ALLOW PICTURE LINKING. So you're too lazy to copy and paste, but not too lazy to make a post to complain.

Thanks for looking anyway...

Thanks, RG. It has been a while since I posted. I have been lurking here, reading some of the same stuff day after day...

Really, I have just been waiting to post so long because I couldn't find my USB cable to upload pics, lol.

That looks awesome....the meshed IMRC cover lives on!

If you want shoot the mesh with some chrome paint by duplicolor, it gives it a nice finish.

Good work on the UIM plaque, I don't recall ever seeing anyone else change the color of that thing.

Like I said, the camera doesn't do the pictures justice. The gunmetal grey mesh looks phenomenal in person. That plaque just didn't fit in my engine bay. It's held on with double sided tape. All you have to do is take fishing string (I used guitar string) and take it off, then remove the tape from both surfaces. Then I sandblasted it and powdercoated it. Then I took a flat block with coarse sandpaper and ran across the letters until they were shiny again. Then I clearcoated it and used more 3M tape to put it back on. Anyone could do this, it can be done with a good stripper (paint remover, not pole dancer) and spray cans of a color and clear.
