hey man, i'm not trying ot offend anyone or anything...and i don't know much about automotive painting - but my logic tells me the only way to get good coverage with the paint is to remove all that hardware and paint it off the car. I mean, how did he clean/sand inbetween the bumper and the body? Being owners of fords, you and i both know there are places where the two meet that you can't stick a piece of paper through, let alone a piece of sandpaper. Dont' forget about all the dirt and crud that gets built up in there (and believe me there is alot!) And then you can't expect paint to be sprayed in there and coat properly. And don't forget about getting under the rubber around the windows, etc.
If it's your buddy and he's doing you a favor, and quality isn't an issue that's fine. But if i were paying a body shop and saw that, i'd be pissed. That looks like a maaco job to me. It'll suck if it starts to bubble around those areas in a year or two.
just my $.02
