If you're worried about water in the wire connection, here's an idea. Get some electrical contact cleaner (which is fast drying and about $2.00 at Kragen) and clean off the contacts that connect to the sensor. After they are completely dry, wrap them up in some electrical tape or shrink wrap to prevent this happening again.
You can then try erasing the code from your PCM and seeing if it returns (easy way to check for a bad sensor).
