This is just a question, Is there any differance from my 96 2.0L Zetec, to the 00-03 zetecs in the Focus and Zx 2's. Can i get away with a simple switch out of teh throttle body such as this http://www.intakesandexhaust.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=69_49_76&products_id=83I ran into a couple differnt versions of the 4.6L when i worked on rebuild progect. While i am asking this, would a svt version of the Zetec in Long Block or Small block form from the Ford Racing Cataloge mount to the transmission work in my 96 chases? thanks Anthony

you really dont need a throttle body of that size unless you are doing Forced Induction... like Hector, he had some problems with it, but he also has a Supercharger that was designed for a focus in it. So thats probably why it fits on his car. I dont think its worth it to spend that much money on a N/A Zetec for a throttle body.
As for your SVT zetec question, it has been discussed NUMERIOUS times. And you COULD NOT attach the SVT zetec to an MTX-75 Gearbox. You would have to use the getrag out of the focus also before anything fit, then redo the roll resisters and trannie mounts... Ug there is so much work involved, it would be a big mess.

But what about a automatic transmission, CD4E, I think the focus might use that tranny, that why i am asking. Also havn't been able to find the post of this topic from previus time.
I also do want to get that jackson super charger. I figure i underdrive the pullys and it should make up for teh parasitic the super chrager puts on. I want a ten second 'tour.

If you have an ATX, you better mean 0-60mph in 10 seconds.
If you have a MTX, your car already does 0-60mph in 10 seconds.
If you mean 10 second 1/4 mile time, prepare to build a drag car and drop a fiberglass Contour body on it. Cuz that's the only way its going to happen.

So then if i can't get a crate for it, where do i find parts for the zetec to rebuild the sucker.
I think you can build a ten second car in any format short of a a prius or geo with out building a darg car and droping a body on it. I am not saying that it will be easy by any means, but I think i can do it.

Dude, you must be dreaming, the fastest Tour on these forums is a Duratec, about 13-14 sec 1/4 mile time.(?)
Thats also with a MTX.

If you really want to shoot for a 10 second Zetec, you had better start contacting Cosworth.
And save a lot of money for the project....I mean like $20k and beyond.
