Check out this hidden airstrip. Got emailed an article from Military.com... There was a thread in December with Terraserver showing it as all whited out so you can't see anything... But Google didn't block it out. Link to Google Maps. You can also zoom in further if you want for some more detail. Click and drag the map around to find other stuff the roads connect to. By now, most of you have probably heard the news that Google has added satellite pictures to their maps. And that those eyes in the sky have taken some pretty amazing pictures -- an erupting volcano, a Baghdad firefight, a Russian sub trapped in ice.
Defense Tech reader DS was rifling through Google's satellite database the other day, and found what he says is "an unknown facility" near the infamous Groom Lake military complex -- the place called "Area 51" by tin-foil hatters worldwide.
DS' discovery, at latitude 37.399263 and longitude -116.223850ΓΆβ?¬Β¦
is an isolated airstrip with a road connecting it to what appears to be an underground facility of some sort. I pulled up the USGS [U.S. Geological Survey] sketches on the area, and it shows no identifying information, however it does reveal what appears to be a tunnel system connecting the various buildings in the underground complex... If you or someone in your circle can shed some light on what this is, it would be interesting I'm sure.

there is a airplane on the strip as well as somesort of big vehicle. That place and the markings definatly seem like they are hiding something. Does not seem earthlike to me. And someone save these pictures before they Disappear. Or maybe that might not be a good idea because you might disappear too!

Just a guess but it looks like some sort of target practice area. It looks very primitive with a lot of earthenworks everywhere. The aircraft looks like an older design. There are no noticeable marks on the ground to indicate aircraft have landed there (although, supposedly the 'aircraft' there don't "land" conventially). And there are a LOT of bomb craters very nearby but nowhere else in the surrounding area.
I also find it a little odd that only that one area around Groom Lake has updated sattelite photos. Everythere else around is obviously very old sattelite imagery. Generally it's quite the opposite.

the road that intersects that large circle (bombing area map) and runs north/south is actually called "4WD rd."

Photos like these need to be removed. We don't need to see this stuff. There are too many places that can be seen which do not need to be seen on there.

If the government didn't want them seen they wouldn't be seen. Any satelite imagery that is public domain has been carefully scrutinized by the government. You'll notice that throughout sattelite imagery there are big blocks cut out or areas covered over with large cicles where many military installations are.
