heres some pics of what i'm doing to resolve the problem we're having.    stock plates for the kits are 3/32" thick, these are 1/4" and are steped to allow the use of the rubber ring that comes with the kit.

If I bend my 3/16" ones I'll try 1/4" plate. I was gonna step those ones I made but I was able to force the rubber over it. Making a set like that on the lathe shouldn't take someone more then 20-30 mins or so.

got the plates drilled today, and they'll be installed after i powdercoat them this week. old plates:   new plates:
