Come to find out, after comparing and researching with the parts department, the slave that was supplied with my SPEC kit was actually a FOCUS slave cylinder. According to my buddy and his parts department the Focus slave cylinder has an o-ring on the slave cylinder and the Contour slave DOES NOT.
So, I am assuming right now if we would have removed the o-ring everything would have been fine. However, I'm not sure.
The new slave has been installed and reportedly working well.
Moral of the story: TRIPLE CHECK YOUR SLAVES THAT ARE SUPPLIED WITH THE CLUTCH KITS.
