I was changing the oil on my 97 Contour Sport when after I drained the oil, I went to open the hood but it was jammed. It released from the catch fine. But it didn't want to open cuz it seemed to bind on the hinger on the driver's side. It has always been slightly out of alignment from looking at the spacing between the hood and fenders. I manged to coax it to open enough to get the oil in. Now the drivers side sits a touch high and the gap on the drivers side is more than the pass. side. Are there some slots in the hinge/hood assembly that I can loosen and try to realign it? It didn't look like there were any. The car has never been hit(well a few dings here and there but no accidents). Any tips or ideas?
