who had the best cold turkey quitting story out there?? I smoked for about a month or so in HS and it was mainly experimental, so it was nothing for me to quit. But what about everyone else anybody smoked a ton and then just given it up?

Smoked from 18-23 quit for a short time and then smoked off and on mainly bumming from friends. Started back up at 27 due to job related stress and smoked for the next 18-months, 2-5 a day.
Quit in Oct. of 2004 and since then have only smoked a handful of times while out gambling/drinking/hanging with friends. Pretty much at a point where I don't plan on buying em too often, maybe a couple times a year for special occasions or while on vacation.
I enjoyed smoking and still do, felt it had little to no effect on me other than the stench. I've never smoked in my car or in my home.

After my Sophomore year, my friends themselves were my inpiration to stay clean. They took drug experimenting to an extreme It was never something to quit, but I did occasionally late in Middle school. That doesn't even count for Cold Turkey, tough. My Ma went cold turkey after Congestive Heart Failure. Of course, after the worst happens I'm proud of her though, because she dropped smoking and hasn't for 3 years now.
