I left pizza bites in my freezer before a 6 week break. I unplugged the refidgerator right before I left. When I got back, it smelled like sewage, poop, sewer, and feet, all combined into one. And it was a black goo, that was the consistency of syrup. I never got the smell out, but it was a rented fridge, so it didn't matter.
Lesson: check your fridge before you leave on breaks!
