hmmm...
i'm thinking that calling people names is going to help your buddy out a bunch.
he was basically trying to feel you/your friend out to see what kind of potential work he does. and considering you're the only one who knows him, and none of us know you, i'd say he's a pretty damm random guy. 
my suggestion (before this thing gets padlocked) is to reel in the attitude a little. we're pretty protective of our own here, and he's just being cautious.
