Thx all!
Save any pics you guys want. The first 8 in the link are from
http://www.headonphotos.net . I have the originals to those in 7.1 MP and they are awesome!! I also have all the rest of the pics in 3.0MP originals. I can send them or post em (pm/email)if anyone want them. I shrunk them all to post and cut 15% of the quality out actually!
The Headlight covers are just Flat black vinyl that my buddy Leo (x Tinter/artist etc) made templates for and layed down. They look freakin sweet huh?!?! I was sad to pull them off. We used the same flat black vinyl for the numbers. The font used is actually the SRT-4 font Sofachrome. I printed out a template on a laserjet and Leo cut those by hand too. I got lots of compliments on them, it was cool! Even the tech guy liked them.
The Front End Link actually broke during a Parade Lap...hehe. It made the track sessions fine but couldn't take that 65mph max! The Nylock apparently didn't lock and the nut backed off, then the ball cup broke etc.. Definitely scared me for a bit. I just bought those POS's from BAT too! The Euro Cougar/Monder Alloy Front Endlinks. I have already ordered parts to make my own endlinks fro the front. Adjustable height, reverse thread aluminum hex stock, delrin and solid heims. The new ones I make won't do that! I wanted to build them in the first place but ran short on time and saw the BAT Euro ones.
I had the best time ever. My SVT performed flawlessly all day! I spent quite a bit of time preparing for it and it showed. I was happy. No placings, just an Open Track and some friendly racing! I schooled a LOT of old mustangs, a badass 84 LTD (fox), Cooper S!, Miata's, tons of foxes, few SN95's, 2/3 SRT's of my buddies, etc. I only got passed in the RED class by the STI, Panoz, Supercharged Stangs, Some badass stroker Shelby replica racers. I even caught the replica pictured Daytona Coupe!!! The other SRT-4 (Kaminari Wing) has quite a bit of mods and a good driver and we were pretty even time wise....I would wave him by on the big straight and eat his rear on the infield and over the hill. Then take him on a late brake and wave him by agaian later on the big straight, lol! He's a good friend and I have helped with everything on his car. It was fun to slice and dice with my buddies after all the bench talk. Next time i'll bring my SRT-4 and it will be over! I have raced with these guys before in there cars while mine was down or stock and I just wanted to see how the SVT would do. It definitely needs a little more power for such a large course! A good E-Managed 3.0L would do! Hmmm. Not that it was slow but just a little more power would make passing those V8's a little easier and help me keep the distance I just gained. I would like a softer tire too. The Azenis's rock but not when all the fast guys are on slicks!
Contour SVT 4x4ing!! This one looks sweet in full size!!
