well today was the day, like my father said the parts were buring in my pocket sort to speak, and I have to tahnk him for helping my with the install. We started around 11 am, got the rear just about done before lunch at 1. After lunch we buttoned up the brakes and finished with the rear of the car, the fronts then came next, little bit of a pita as everything was really rust. I am glad that the kit included new pinch bolts for the struts

I also replaced the rear sway bar bushing and end link bushing with the Energy Suspension bushings, was goign to do that front but that will wait for another day

some helpful hits for others, when trying to get the ball joint apart loosen the pinch bolt and slide the hub all the way up onto the strut, this will give you some extra space. To get the ball joint back together start with it pulled straight out from the car then get it started and push the hub inwards, it should pop right in

to make getting the front struts in and out of the hub loosen the retaining nut on the strut so it can move around alittle, this gives you some more play to get the strut out

car rides great, the alignment is still dead on. car remains much more level, no little to no lift or nose dive, compliant ride, not to firm, overall first 40 minutes of driving impression, A+

now to the pics, enjoy because I know I am

My car sits that low in the back stock, still haven't figured out why. Still too much front gap for my tastes Are those pictures with fresh springs or settled springs? I seem to like the raked look a little more

oh but that's the fun part of acceleration!

Man, seeing this on your car makes me want to start modding mine (even though ATX). They are beautiful!

My car seems to sit higher than any other Contour on here, I think, see this picture (taken in 2001, I really need to take some recent pics of my car):

Your car is now at the *perfect* height, IMO. Absolutely stunning. And the ride improvement only seals the deal further. If I have extra money this summer I must get the BAT kit.

Dunno.

Perhaps the same reason that Brapple's new kit isn't even as low as his dad's stock '95 SE. Margin for error must be large on those things

It is nice having a 4x4-like suspension when navigating the parking lots at my school (all of which have sloped, hilly entrances that are sidewalk level to begin with, very high); all sorts of cars scrape there but I've never once in this car, even when hauling five adults. But it kills the aesthetics of the car.
