I just bought a Trubendz set-up for my svt. I'm curious of how far back the pipes go. Do they go back to the cat? I'll be getting some msds headers + ypipe sometime this summer, And i know that goes as far as the cat. Anyone want to chime in on this?

The dual exit comes together under the trunk somewhere & the remaining pipe snakes its way up to the cat. You just bolt it in at that point. The headers & Y will bolt up to the front of the cat, so with your new system the only stock part left will be the cat. The stock cat is a very good design, so keep it.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I'm waiting on mine now too.

I've read the FAQ on the main site for the bracket ... question though. The Taurus muffler hanger, as quoted in that FAQ, is coming up at around $80. Is that definitely the part I need (F6DZ-5A294-A)?

Ok, after a few emails with someone at trubendz I am no closer to a decision. I originally was going to go with the
CONTOUR DUAL 2.5" W/ MAGNAFLOW (ALUM)
The reply from trubendz was that kit would be a bit too loud for a family car, so then I started thinking about the
CONTOUR RESONATED 2.5" w/MAGNAFLOW . I'm thinking this one will be too restrictive with 1 muffler and 2 resonators and won't give me the HP gain I am looking for.

Your input needed... Compared to the resonated kit above, how would the following proposed setup sound vs. performance gain? Keep in mind that I have very little exhaust knowledge so this may make no sense at all vs the above two options. I was thinking: Replace everything from the cat back with 2.5", add Y pipe, go into a magnaflow on each side at the rear. Is having two mufflers going to keep it quiet enough to keep this a family car while still giving me a HP gain? Or will the fact that they are a performance type muffler make them too loud? 2 more things. What type of HP gain can I expect over stock with this setup, and what model magnaflows would fit/look good at the back ? the description at trubendz.com says either kit gives 7-12 HP at the wheels, that sounds like a bit much....

From someone who knows nothing about exhaust, thanks for the help!
Tom
