When I had this problem the bolt was not tight. It's like all held together from plastic and pressure with this bolt. So if it's not tight it will not stop and will bang into the plastic at the bottom. Now that it's hitting you might need to move it up a few notches.
If you need new blades goto Walmart. The ones in the yellow Anco box work well.
