Hi, I am wondering if any of you in the WI area can recommend a place for cheap and good exhaust work?
I am looking for 2.25 pipe from flex back to a Magnaflow muffler with no Res. (Zetec 2.0)
I seem to be getting quotes around 350.00, is that about right?
Thanks

if you have any welding skills i say build your own, i build my system for $150, 2.5" all mandrel bent.
another option is svt exhaust(2.25" tube), and have the res removed.

I have no welding skills let alone a welder. Also i live in an apartment complex so i am limited to work i can do on my car.
I talked to a few places and they act like it would be difficult to do what i asked above let alone put in an SVT exhaust.
If i got a rough estimate of 350.00 on the above, any ideas if an SVT exhaust would be a cheaper alternative?
Some places are saying i would be better off just leaving the rest and only replacing the muffler.
Thanks

svt exhaust is a bolt-in.....you just need another exhaust hanger.

svt exhaust can be had for $100-150.

No it's not. Not on a Zetec.I've got some video of my old car somewhere. Shoot me a PM to remind me and I'll get 'em to you.
It's a 99 Zetec with Intake and SVT exhaust with res but no mufflers. Sweet sounding.

Try Top Street Tuning in Butler. The shop is owned and operated by Jake Hanhardt, who used to work for an exhaust shop in waukesha that did work on my 2.0. Very high quality work and pride, but i think you may need to dial 411 for the shops number as it is not in the phone book.

I just had my SVT exhaust put on. It cost me 135.00 for new 2.25 pipe from the flex pipe back to the pc where it splits to dual exhaust by the gas tank, and a new hanger in the back. I paid Thinkmoto 125.00 for the exhaust I had the work done at a local shop. They also left the res. off. I wasn't really going for performance, but a better sound than stock and I am pleased with it so far. Good luck in finding a shop and I hope everything works out!

Thank you all for the recommendations.
After calling a few places and the excitment of wanting the new exhaust i decided to go with this.
2.25 pipe from flex back ( no Resonator ) split with y pipe behind gas tank and 2 Flow-Pro mufflers and turndown pipes.
380.00 for parts and labor.
Not bad considering a couple others wanted around the same for single pipe and muffler.
At idle it sounds real nice (nice little growl), have yet to really test it. Waiting for it to break in to get the true sound from it!
thanks again

Okay, please tell us where you got that work done. With a 9 year old car I'll someday be in the market for a new exhaust. (They don't last forever) That sounds like a good price for what was all done. 1996 Contour SE ATX2004 Mazda 6i MTX
