Mondeo's with A/C have pnumatic actuators that run off the engine vacuum to control airflow direction. Mondeo's without A/C have wire operated flaps to do the same. If you post up a picture of the back of your heater controls i can tell you what the Contour uses

YOUR CAR MUST HAVE THE MANUAL A/C already fitted because the kit will interface with the pneumatic line and the solenoid recircle valve that only tha A/C cars have. If you have a mondeo with cable controlled temperature and air distibuition the kit don't fit in your car.

the HVAC is vacumm controlled in our cars

should be able to use this system then. The only other part of the car it taps into is the A/C compressor control and +12V. Everything else is controlled by the new loom. Do contours have electronic flap control motors too?

Nope, and the SVT's are the highest models too. There isn't even a trip computer, just a manual odometer.

Ford of America is so, vastly, vastly different from what you're used to in Ford of Europe.

Well, if I ever go to Germany (which I hope I do sometime...) I will definatly attempt to fit a trip computer and/or auto climate controls in there.

BTW, there's the dash... also note the clock is only in the 1998 and earliar models... the E1 (1998.5) and 99/00 just had a plastic piece that says "Contour" on it. Oh, and the white is not normal, whoever had the car before me did that.
