I took my car back to Galpin (where I bought it) here in SOCal because I keep having this reoccurring problem with the RPM. It keeps Idling high, not dropping during gear changes, and sometimes when I have my clutch down it actually revs up instead of coming down to the normal .6 or so. This is the 4th time its been back there for this problem the past 3 times they were unable to fix the problem. They changed a valve that was leaking but that did not do it. I even faxed them the FAQ info on this problem but that wasn't the problem either. This is becoming really frustrating and was wondering, would my car be considered a lemon because of this? WHAT SHOULD I DO?? I WANT MY CAR BACK!! confused

Oh yeah, one more thing. They told me they called Ford and SVT and they both told them this is completely normal and that nothing is wrong mad

Thanks
Danny

Bad IAC valve or throttle position sensor come to mind. I had this same problem for a while and I just simply reset the computer and it fixed it. When my SVT did it it was very intermitent.

Been going for a month w/o any problems. If they havent reset the comp. ask them to. Or just take the neg. battery cable off yourself and let it sit for 15-30 min. Worked for me smile

It's normal for the revs to hang for 2-3 seconds before coming down. Emissions demands it now-a-days. If it hangs longer than this, it's not normal...

Nah, it hangs a lot longer than that, its not normal. The worst thing about it is that sometimes when I put the clutch in it actually revs up instead of going down. I just called then and they said they replace the IAC valve so they will try to reset the cpu. I'll keep you guys updated ...

You know, you can reset the computer yourself. Either disconnect the negative terminal on the battery for 15 mins or pull fuse #4 and then put it back in after 15 mins. No reason to take it to the shop smile
