Could that be powder coated? I think the guy who did powder coating for NV and myself does that Jet Hot coating which looks just like that. Looks very good on the Cougar cool

Looks cool, but its not functionnal. Remember a shiny chromed part tends to stay 10% hotter than a flat black part, all other factors being equal.
