Thanks
I think the svt block has a different transmission bolt pattern. If I had the svt tranny I could probably do it, but at this point I need my car back together.

OK it is almost done. I will post pics when I am done. I installed the new serpentine belt today and it is 77.5 in long, found the size by trial and error. I trimmed the top of the timing belt cover on both sides so that the passeneger mount connecting bracket would slide onto the bolts correctly. I had to shorten the spider radiator hose by 1" as well where it cobbects to the motor. Anyway it is almost done and will be fired up some time tomorrow.

I agree, but before you fire up the engine, get a video camera. I want to see the first fire up of it. I bet this is a first in CEG history, a Focus Zetec starting in a contour.

Are you simply using a foci block or an entire used engine? Other than the fitment issues have you run into any electrical or sensor attachment issues? What about the OBD 1 to 2 issues? Fuel system issues? You seem to be both tenacious and crazy enogh to tackle these things but that seem pretty significant to me.

I am pretty excited about it. I am getting it done so quickly so that I don't have to drive my truck cus gas is $$$$ I might do a detailed how-to if people are interested? I mosty have pics of the focus engine, but we all know what the tours zetec looks like anyway. Video camera for first startup is a great idea, but I don't have a video camera Volunteers?

I am using the entire engine minus the fuel rail, intake manifold and exhaust manifold, read my signature for why. The only electrical issues were the oil pressure switch and knock sensor which couldn't be swapped, so I just spliced in the focus connectors. Electrically it is all done:D

Since I'll be there Sunday, if its ready to go, I can take a video.
Won't be great quality but it will be something.

I must say I am impressed with the speed this is taking place.

I probably won't have a head swap done in this amount of time.
