Once the car gets to about 2K to 2500 the car starts to sputter a little bit like it is missing. I just gutted the manifold cats and have a sho-shop y-pipe without the cat, so I am not sure if this is the problem or not but I can't tell if it is throwing a check engine light since the previous owner took out the check engine bulb. I am going to change the plugs and wires since they are probably old. I also am going to do the fuel filter. Does anyone have any other ideas on what could be causing the stutter?

Wow nobody has any ideas what this could be? I was hoping that someone would give me some ideas since you guys are smarter than I when it comes to these cars.

First off, you should get it scanned. Plugs/wires and fuel filter are a good start and a great idea, since the 100k mi tune-up is B.S. anyway. I would start there with the simple stuff, and then move into the more daunting of tasks (fuel pressure, sensors, filters). Good luck and let us know if anything new comes up!

I'm pretty sure a lot of people are having this problem. My car (CSVT) is actually at the dealership now for the 2nd time in 2 weeks for the same problem. I have done a bunch of searches and really havent come up with anything definitive. Many have said it is a fuel pump which is new, and does not work well with our engines. Have you had the fuel pump replaced lately??

My dealership first thought it was the PCM, but they were wrong. The car had the same problem 2 days later. If I find anything out soon, I will let you know.
